Here are highlights from Wednesdays Analyst Blog:

InterDigital at a High Multiple

We maintain our Hold rating and the same valuation target for InterDigital, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDCC), a leading wireless technology and licensing company, following mixed financial results of its second quarter 2008. Although revenue was slightly better than our estimates, net income was impacted due to an increase in patent administration and licensing costs.

The management indicated that operating expenses will also increase due to new product development. Furthermore, we believe that ongoing royalty related litigation with Samsung and Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) will determine near-term stock price movement.

Delphi Financial Misses Slightly

We maintain our Hold rating on the shares of Delphi Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: DFG), a holding company whose subsidiaries provide non-medical insurance products and services.

The companys second-quarter operating results missed our expectations by seven cents, mainly due to disappointing investment results. While the earnings were depressed for 2Q08 due to lower net investment income, Delphis premiums and fee income has been broadening over the last few quarters.

Gerdau a Brazilian Value Buy

We are keeping our Buy recommendation on Gerdau S.A. (NYSE: GGB). The company has been posting good results, and the second quarter 2008 results were excellent. Moreover, high steel prices, the continued high demand for steel in China, the good economic environment in Brazil, and the companys continued acquisitions of smaller steel producers creates a positive environment for Gerdau.

However, the international economic environment for commodity stocks is deteriorating due to high inflation and interest rates throughout the world and a possible recession in the U.S. Nevertheless we still have a positive outlook for Gerdau, mainly considering its attractive valuation.

SRVY Offers Few Surprises

We continue to rate shares of Greenfield Online, Inc. (Nasdaq: SRVY) a Hold. We have maintained our 2008 revenue estimate at $150 million, and we have reduced our earnings per share estimate to $0.46 per share, from our previous $0.48 estimate.

This is because of break-even earnings in the first quarter and weaker than expected earnings in the second quarter, the end of the year guided gross margin of 75%-76% for 2008 and effective tax rate of 25%-27% for 2008. Currently, Greenfield Online is trading at 36.3x our 2008 EPS estimate of $0.46, and 23.5x our 2009 EPS estimate of $0.71.
