Veraz Extends Leadership in Bandwidth Optimization with the I-Gate 4000 SBO
Enables Service Providers to Reduce Their VoIP Bandwidth Requirements by 67% While Maintaining Toll Quality and High Reliability
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Veraz Networks, Inc., (NASDAQ:VRAZ) the leading provider of Multimedia Generation Network application, control, and bandwidth optimization products, today announced the I-Gate 4000 Session Bandwidth Optimizer (SBO). Built on the award-winning I-Gate 4000 platform and utilizing RTP multiplexing technology, the I-Gate 4000 SBO enables service providers to reduce the bandwidth required for voice over IP (VoIP) trunks by up to 67% while maintaining toll quality and high reliability. The I-Gate 4000 SBO is currently in trial with several service providers.
Today, service providers and large enterprises need to minimize the cost of bandwidth as they extend the reach of their VoIP networks and migrate from TDM to next generation all-IP networks. In many cases, IP transport costs represent the single largest expense for operators offering VoIP services. Building on the leading TDM-IP compression technology already available on the I-Gate 4000 platform, the I-Gate 4000 SBO dramatically lowers the cost of IP trunks without reducing the quality or reliability of VoIP services. A limited version of the bandwidth optimization technology used in the SBO is also available on Veraz’s recently announced Network-adaptive Border Controller product family.
“Today, a significant and rapidly growing portion of international long distance traffic is VoIP. Faced with increasing competition, VoIP service providers need to simultaneously drive down the costs of their network while managing rapid growth,” noted Amit Chawla, Veraz EVP, Global Business Units. “With its industry leading bandwidth optimization, the I-Gate 4000 SBO enables service providers to achieve significant cost savings for VoIP trunking on a proven, converged TDM and IP platform, while maintaining high quality voice services.”
Veraz Networks is the leader in the development and deployment of advanced bandwidth optimization products for both TDM and IP networks. With the addition of the I-Gate 4000 SBO, Veraz continues to provide network operators the most flexible and highest performing bandwidth optimization capabilities for both TDM and IP bandwidth optimization.
