LAS VEGAS--()--International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT) and Progressive Gaming International Corporation (NASDAQ: PGIC) announced today a broad-based strategic alliance, including an intellectual property agreement that will allow Progressive Gaming to integrate IGT’s sb™ NexGen™ displays and replicate IGT Advantage® Bonusing products into its Casinolink® Enterprise Edition slot management system.
“Progressive Gaming’s integration of our sb-enabled NexGen product extends our momentum for the roll-out of these products and highlights our commitment to make them available on non-IGT casino management systems”
The agreement will lead to enhanced applications for Progressive Gaming’s Casinolink customers through a server-enabled touch screen display. As of December 31, 2007 nearly 64,000 slot machines worldwide utilized Progressive Gaming’s Casinolink Enterprise Edition.
The NexGen display is an interactive touch screen tool for player communication, bonusing promotions, interactions, and rewards which will be deployed on slot machines managed by Casinolink. The sb NexGen features state-of-the-art networking and connectivity using new Gaming Standards Association (GSA) specifications and protocols. IGT and Progressive Gaming are GSA members. Casinolink is a suite of casino management products that support every facet of a gaming operation and consolidate all gaming management requirements into one integrated system.
Progressive Gaming and IGT also have expanded their existing agreement regarding Progressive Gaming’s use of IGT’s EZ Pay® technology for slot machine markets where Casinolink is deployed.
“Progressive Gaming’s integration of our sb-enabled NexGen product extends our momentum for the roll-out of these products and highlights our commitment to make them available on non-IGT casino management systems,” said Steve Morro, Chief Operating Officer of IGT.
Progressive Gaming International Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Russel McMeekin stated, “Through the successful deployment of Table iD™, IGT and Progressive Gaming are demonstrating that opportunities to collaborate on the deployment of a complex joint system initiative can bring significant near-term benefits to our customers. The availability of the NexGen server-based gaming display unit on slot machines managed by Casinolink worldwide is anticipated to provide the initial pathway for the adoption of a standard for sb gaming. The addition of NexGen is expected to enhance the functionality of our Casinolink system, thereby providing our customers with new ways to maximize the profitability of their slot floors and open up new revenue channels for Progressive Gaming and IGT.
“In addition, the expansion of our agreement to offer EZ Pay to markets where it was not previously deployed makes the industry standard currency system available to nearly all of our global customer base and provides Progressive Gaming the ability to address approximately 90,000 currently installed slot machines that we could not previously serve due to features and/or intellectual property limitations.”
