HKR Continues to Demonstrate Expertise in Office Design & Fitout

DUBLIN, Ireland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HKR Architects (HKR), the international architecture and design practice, continues to demonstrate the firms unique expertise in the design and fitout of state-of-the-art office buildings. HKR has recently completed the redesign and refurbishment of the interior of two prominent office buildings for the Arthur Cox and Max Europe headquarters in Dublin.

Arthur Cox | Design of new headquarter building

Arthur Cox, one of Irelands leading law firms, appointed HKR in early 2007 to develop a strategic brief for the firms new headquarters building in Dublin. The brief was to design a building to reflect and enhance the firms corporate image and also foster its culture and values.

In order to establish a comprehensive perspective of the desired image for the new working environment HKR undertook, together with Arthur Cox, a thorough study with the key user groups involved. Following this, a Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued to the market for developers tenders in summer 2007.

Arthur Cox | Redesign of existing office space

While researching the specification for the new headquarters, HKR was engaged to refurbish and extend the client facilities in Arthur Coxs existing premises. HKR used the information gathered during the strategic briefing stages to inform its design for the refurbishment of this existing space, taking cognisance of operational issues while providing an area that reflects the culture and values of the organisation.

HKR has just completed the design of a new client reception, suite of meeting rooms and large conferencing area together with upgraded catering facilities at Arthur Cox.

Justin Treacy, Director of HKR Interior commented, HKR is delighted to have led the design and fitout of Arthur Coxs existing and planned headquarters in Dublin. The refurbishment of the existing offices has resulted in a bright, contemporary series of spaces that are understated and elegant. The design solution effectively reflects the aspirations of the client and meets the requirements of the brief, which was to test strategies, materials and furniture for the new headquarters building.

Max Europe | Design of new headquarter building

HKR also recently completed the design of Max Europes new headquarter facilities in Dublin. Max Europe is a provider of specialty insurance and reinsurance products.

Max Europes brief was to design an office space that would act both as a front of house client-facing facility and as a space to support the different business strands within the organisation.

HKRs design for this fitout is comprised of a unique reception space that acts as a striking foil to the restrained offices beyond. A separate meeting suite is housed on an adjacent floor with meeting rooms grouped around a communal breakout area that is complete with soft seating and a sleek coffee bar.

Justin Treacy commented, The delivery of these state-of-the art design and fitout projects is a credit to our well established Interiors team and the strong presence and reputation that HKR has in the interior design sector. International organisations are beginning to realise the importance of the interior design of their buildings and the positive impact a unique and bespoke design can have on its workforce. HKR is uniquely positioned to deliver a superior service offering that combines leading-edge architecture with traditional design.
