Makes History As Nation’s Largest Letter Writing Campaign On Immigration To Date

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, radio personality Eddie “Piolín” Sotelo will hand deliver over one million letters signed by U.S. citizens and/or legal residents in support of the passage of a fair and just immigration reform bill this year to bi-partisan members of Congress. Piolín’s “Por la Reforma Migratoria con Piolín” campaign marks the first time that a letter writing campaign has generated such a large number of letters in support of immigration reform.

Five days ago, he left from Los Angeles, beginning his cross-country caravan journey and making stops in Albuquerque, Dallas and Chicago to collect letters from U.S. citizens and legal residents in a united quest for immigration reform.

Piolin’s letter delivery will take place today, June 14, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. ET in Senate Upper Park (Corner of Constitution and Delaware). Senators Kennedy (D-MA), Martinez (R-FL), Menendez (D-NJ), Salazar (D-CO), and Specter (R-PA), as well as members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and Congressional Hispanic Conference will be present to receive the signed letters.
