MAYNARD, Mass.--()--Monster®, the leading global online careers and recruitment resource and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST), today announced several website enhancements to further empower job seekers and produce more quality job search matches. Increased transparency into the application process, enhanced job search functionality and a redesigned site layout will improve the overall experience, helping seekers identify more pertinent opportunities and stay more engaged and informed during the search process.
“Finding the right job can be stressful – we want to make the process more transparent and help our seekers find the most pertinent opportunities”
“Monster continues to leverage technological innovations to facilitate the best matches between job seekers and employers,” said Brad Baker, president, product, technology and service, Monster Worldwide. “Because we build long-term relationships with job seekers and employers alike, we not only offer superior search and match capabilities, we also strive to provide a level of personalization, information and insight not found on any other career-related site. More than simply a job board, we are a comprehensive career partner.”
A New Vantage Point for Job Seekers
Monster is the first leading career site to give job seekers an opportunity to compare themselves with other candidates who applied for the same position through www.monster.com. Job seekers can now tell what percentage of other applicants share similar qualifications in terms of educational level and years of experience. In addition, with an expanded “Apply History” section, a job seeker can follow employer activity once an application has been submitted or a resume has been posted on Monster. Site visitors can also track job postings to see when they are refreshed or modified, and can maintain personal notes about points of contact and next steps with each perspective employer.
“Job seekers have long been frustrated by the ‘black hole’ of online recruiting, because companies often don’t respond to all of the inquiries they receive,” said Peter M. Zollman, founding principal of Classified Intelligence. “Anything that helps job seekers stay better informed throughout the process is bound to be a big hit and improve the online recruiting experience for both job seekers and employers.”
“Finding the right job can be stressful – we want to make the process more transparent and help our seekers find the most pertinent opportunities,” Baker stated.
New Job Search Capabilities
As part of Monster’s ongoing effort to advance its industry-leading search and match technology, job seekers can more effectively refine, modify and augment their searches using new options. For example, site visitors can quickly narrow existing searches using criteria such as job category, career level and salary range. They can also sort job results by mileage from a targeted zip code. For job seekers looking to cast a wider net, an integrated “More Jobs Like This” feature allows them to seamlessly expand a current search to see other relevant opportunities. To help seekers more easily manage the overall application process, saved and applied-to jobs will automatically be flagged directly on the search results pages.
In addition, Monster will continue offering visitors the opportunity to experience – and provide direct feedback on – search capabilities and user interfaces that are still under development. Users will find “beta” products available on the job search area of the site.
Site Redesign
The newly redesigned Monster site improves the user experience, starting with a homepage that offers streamlined access to job search, tools and services. A newly structured career advice section, set to launch in the coming weeks, will quickly guide visitors to the content they need to accomplish their goals, whether it is finding a new job or getting ahead in their current one. The site redesign also reflects the bright, optimistic tone of Monster’s 2007 integrated marketing campaign, “Monster Works for Me.”
