DALLAS--()--Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages (CSAB) announced today that the company will introduce new labeling on regular 7UP to provide more information to consumers about the natural ingredients in 7UP.
Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages introduced the reformulated 7UP in spring 2006. The product was developed following Food and Drug Administration (FDA) written policy on natural products and ingredients. Many all natural products have relied on this same policy for years.
The consumer response to the great taste of the reformulated 7UP and removal of artificial ingredients has been overwhelmingly positive. We know many consumers are interested in a wide variety of natural products and ingredients, but also that many, varied opinions on labeling of all natural products exist.
Therefore, the new label will go beyond applicable regulations and move from saying "100% Natural" to specifically highlighting those 7UP natural ingredients, for which there is no debate. 7UP contains all natural flavors as well as no added colors, no artificial preservatives and no caffeine. The great tasting 7UP that consumers love and enjoy will not change.
