BCC's conference will emphasize emerging technologies, materials and markets and will feature cutting edge research in nanotechnology and commercialization from some of the world's leading nanoscientists. The program will provide attendees an unmatched look at the state-of-the-art in emerging nanotechnology. This year marks the eighth year since BCC began organizing an annual nanotechnology conference.
“The NanoBusiness conferences have always been about the intersection of science, technology and business”
"The NanoBusiness conferences have always been about the intersection of science, technology and business," said Dr. Nathan Tinker, chairman of NanoBusiness2005 and co-founder of the NanoBusiness Alliance. "BCC is the acknowledged leader in nano technical and scientific information. Adding BCC's technical and scientific expertise to our program will enhance our ability to communicate the depth and breadth of nanotechnology's impact, and provide a forum for understanding how today's laboratory breakthroughs will become tomorrow's products," added Dr. Tinker.
"In many respects, nanotechnology is still a lab phenomenon," said Dr. Thomas Abraham, Vice President of Research at BCC, "and understanding the current state of the emerging science and technology is vital to building sustainable businesses. We are excited about the opportunity to cooperate with NanoBusiness2005 to produce an event that emphasizes the latest scientific and technological advances. Together, the technical and business programs will offer attendees an unmatched appreciation of the current and potential impact of nanoscience and technology."
The Nanotechnology 2005 conference will begin with a workshop titled "Nanomaterials 101: Synthesis, Assembly, Properties and Applications of Nanostructures," at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 22. The instructors are Prof. P.M. Ajayan, Materials Science & Engineering Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY) and Prof. George John, Department of Chemistry, The City College of the City University of New York. The day-long conference on May 23 is organized into four sessions as follows: Industry Trends and Markets, Emerging Nanotechnology Segments, Nanotech Enabled Therapies, and Nanoscale Diagnostics and Imaging.

About NanoBusiness2005
NanoBusiness2005 is the official conference of the NanoBusiness Alliance. It is nanotechnology's foremost business conference, intended for key stakeholders in the business of small technology, and will once again gather hundreds of scientists, engineers, business leaders and investors for three intensive days of seminars, presentations, keynotes and networking events. NanoBusiness2005 is designed to provide the information required to move research and application development to commercialization, as well as to showcase the ongoing integration of small tech products into the global economy. NanoBusiness2005 is produced by Penton Media. For sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, contact Vince Caprio, vcaprio@penton.com. For more information, see www.nanoevent.com.
About Business Communications Company
Since 1971, BCC, Inc. (www.bccresearch.com) has critically studied the major market, economic and technological developments that have characterized industry to produce industry reports, newsletters and conferences. In the process, BCC has focused on advanced materials, high-technology systems and components, and novel processing methods since the development and marketing of these phenomena assert a profound influence on manufacturers and users on a worldwide scale.
Back in the mid-1990s, long before the manufacturing, business and investment communities had even heard the term "nano," BCC was already tracking the nanomaterials and nanotechnology field with its reports, newsletters, and conferences. This year BCC celebrates the 8th anniversary of its annual conference, while returning to New York City, the venue for our first meeting, for Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials 2005. BCC has been organizing nanotechnology conference every year since 1998, which has had participation from all major companies and institutions.
