VeriFone and Biometric Access Company Partner to Streamline Electronic Payments

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2005--Biometric Access Company (BAC) today announced a development alliance with VeriFone, Inc. to certify its SecureTouch(R) biometric identity verification solutions with VeriFone's electronic payment solutions for the multi-lane retail industry.

Under the alliance, VeriFone will integrate BAC's Retail Verification System(TM) (RVS) to offer biometric payment authorization to customers that utilize selected VeriFone retail and financial industry solutions. RVS enables biometric identity verification using a person's finger image.

In the retail capacity, RVS provides electronic payment authorization (ACH checking, credit/debit, EBT and loyalty programs), automatic age verification for age-restricted purchases, and secure payroll check cashing. Consumers are able to shop without the need to carry a purse, wallet or checkbook and are able to pay for goods without any cash, checks or plastic cards, which results in a faster, easier and more secure sales transaction.

BAC's technology will also support VeriFone's solutions when improved ID verification is desired for the financial, retail, petroleum, government and healthcare markets.
