Gregory Freiwald to Retire from Dow

MIDLAND, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) today announced that Gregory Freiwald, chief Human Resources officer, Aviation and Corporate Affairs, has elected to retire from the Company following 35 years of service with Dow. Freiwald will transition his executive leadership responsibilities to Johanna Söderström and will officially retire at the end of March 2015.

Freiwald joined Dow in 1979 as a salary administrator in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has held numerous human resource leadership roles during the span of his career providing strategic planning and execution for several Dow businesses and departments in numerous locations including Buenos Aires, Coral Gables, Fla., Midland, Mich., Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Milan, Italy. In 2006, Freiwald was appointed vice president of Corporate Aviation and Executive Compensation and in 2008, was selected to lead the global HR organization and named executive vice president. Freiwald is also Secretary to the Compensation and Leadership Committee of the Board and director of the Dow Foundation.
