Dow to Showcase Customer Collaboration Success and Innovative Polyurethane Technologies at UTECH Europe 2012

  • A New Line of HYPERLAST™ and DIPRANE™ Non-Mercury Catalyzed Polyurethane Elastomer Products to Be Introduced
  • Dow Experts to Speak at Polyurethane Technology Presentations

HORGEN, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dow Polyurethanes and Dow Formulated Systems, business groups of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:Dow), will highlight their latest customer-focused solutions at the upcoming UTECH Europe 2012 Conference (stand #2230).

“At Dow, we are constantly striving to create innovative solutions that address key market needs and create opportunities for our customers” said Jon Penrice, general manager, Dow Formulated Systems. “We look forward to showcasing our latest technologies and customer collaboration successes at UTECH Europe 2012.”

This year at UTECH, Dow will launch HYPERLAST™ and DIPRANE™ non-mercury catalyzed polyurethane elastomers. The new products are based on well-respected technology and have enhanced features in terms of material processing and the final properties of the moulded elastomer.

For the household appliance segment, Dow will showcase its PASCAL™ Technology, a new patented polyurethane system that increases energy efficiency and processing productivity in household refrigerators by up to 10 percent. For professional cold chain, VORACOR™ second generation hydrocarbon and water polyurethane systems, featuring lower applied densities and demold times, are tailored to meet the most stringent regulations and anticipate market environmental trends – helping maintain food and beverage quality from the field to the table.

Dow also will highlight VORANOL™ polyols for high resilience foam formulations and VORALUX™ polyols and systems for viscoelastic foams – both of which include a broad portfolio of solutions for easy processability, varying hardness levels and reduced foam odor.

In addition, Dow representatives will be available to discuss the latest developments in renewable footwear soling systems and polyurethane backing for artificial turf, as well as VORATHERM™ insulated metal panel solutions, which bring excellent performance that meets the most stringent fire requirements of the construction industry. Construction customers will also have an opportunity to learn more about the ce|de|pa continuous panel development center, which advances innovation by providing a place to collaborate and create new ideas, test those ideas and solve problems together.

“With more than 65 years in polyurethane chemistry, Dow continues to develop customer-focused solutions that help address ever-changing industry requirements,” said Steven English, global vice president, Dow Polyurethanes.
