Davis Named Vice President of Government Affairs & Public Affairs for Dow

MIDLAND, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Matt Davis, vice president of Public Affairs for The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW), has been named vice president of Global Government Affairs and Public Affairs.

In this executive-level role, Davis will provide leadership for all of Dow’s Government Affairs, Public Policy, Issues Management, Communications, Reputation, and Public Affairs strategy and actions around the Dow world.

Davis joined Dow in 1987 after graduating from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Journalism, with an emphasis on Public Affairs. Over the next seven years he served as a Public Affairs manager for several areas within the company, including Michigan Operations, Corporate Media Relations, and Employee Development and Quality Performance Communications.

From 1994 to 2006, Davis held various Public Affairs leader roles for Dow’s Texas Operations, Dow Latin America, the company’s Polyolefins and Elastomers business group and for Dow’s Global Plastics Portfolio. In 2006, he was appointed Vice President of Executive Communications, Government Affairs & Community Relations for Dow. He assumed his role as Vice President of Public Affairs in 2009.

Davis is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). He was named to the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame as a “Rising Star” in 2009.
