Alcoa Flexible Packaging Receives Supplier Award from Philip Morris

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 16, 2005--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that its Alcoa Flexible Packaging (AFP) business was the recipient of the Excellence in Improvement award for best overall improvement for the year 2004 from Philip Morris USA Inc. Improvement criteria include quality, cost, security and technology, and delivery and service. The award was given in honor of the late David L. Milby, who served as Senior Vice President, Operations and Procurement Services for Philip Morris and was a proponent of continuous improvement.

AFP supplies a variety of packaging components for Philip Morris tobacco products used worldwide and is the company's primary supplier of the foil innerliner for its cigarette packages.
