SAN FRANCISCO--()--Positioning itself for its next growth phase and continuing its long-term commitment to its Bay Area roots, Business Wire has moved its San Francisco co-headquarters into state-of-the-art offices at 101 California Street.

The new, custom-designed office configuration will allow for greater collaboration among the multiple departments housed in San Francisco.

With more than 150 employees, San Francisco is Business Wire's largest office. It is home to the company's technology, legal, finance, accounting, licensing, human resources, and operations departments, and a 24/7/365 newsroom.

"This move is important in that it signifies the 'look-and-feel' of the company that Business Wire is today -- cutting edge, news and tech-savvy, and in lock step with the business trend setters that the Bay Area typifies," said Cathy Baron Tamraz, chairwoman and CEO, and a 35 year veteran of the company. "It also represents the keys to our success over the past half century: we have remained fresh, forward-thinking, and forward-moving in an environment that is in a constant state of metamorphosis.

"Being part of the Bay Area's DNA since 1961, we are known as a company of 'firsts.' In that vein, we will be announcing another industry 'first' in honor of our 53rd anniversary on October 2," added Tamraz.

"101 California was selected as the optimal location to accommodate Business Wire's next 50 years of growth," said Geff Scott, chief financial officer, who orchestrated the move. "The custom-designed space provides a more agile, collaborative work environment for Business Wire's employees. The new office reflects Business Wire's continual commitment to both its employees, as well as the evolving technology supporting the news industry and our prestigious client base. We look forward to hosting our clients and media partners in our new facilities."

The move comes on the eve of the 53rd anniversary of Business Wire's founding on October 2, 1961, and is symbolic of the company's growth into a global enterprise. An American success story, the company operated out of founder Lorry I. Lokey's home during its early years, similar to many of today's Silicon Valley tech giants. Today Business Wire is a widely respected and integral member of the Bay Area's business community with 32 offices throughout North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
