NEW YORK--()--AOL, Inc. announced today that AOL Original “Park Bench With Steve Buscemi” has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Short-Form Nonfiction Program. This is AOL’s first Emmy nomination, arriving just three years after the company created its first slate of original series.

“We’re humbled and pleased by this nomination, as it validates our steadfast commitment to creating premium shows with authentic voices,” said Ran Harnevo, President of Video at AOL. “We've built our video strategy around taking quality content and pairing it with innovative distribution models to create scale and awareness on every screen, from TV to mobile. Great content is great content, regardless of length, delivery, or the device on which it’s viewed, and it’s rewarding to see that the industry is recognizing quality short-form digital content at the most prestigious awards in television.”

“I’m honored and thrilled to have Park Bench nominated for an Emmy. It's been a really fun show to do with Geo, my brother Michael Buscemi, and all of the fantastic guests we've had join us on park benches throughout New York City,” said award-winning actor Steve Buscemi. “We've had outstanding support along the way. AOL and RadicalMedia have been fantastic partners with our company Olive Productions. It’s been a truly great experience all around and it's extremely gratifying to have the industry recognize us in this way.”

“Park Bench With Steve Buscemi” was produced by Olive Productions and RadicalMedia in association with AOL Originals. The executive production team includes: Steve Buscemi, Executive Producer; Stanley Tucci, Executive Producer; Wren Arthur, Executive Producer; Justin Wilkes, Executive Producer; Joe Killian, Executive Producer; Jon Doran, Executive Producer. The series can be viewed on The AOL On Network, the leading video network for premium, curated content on the Web.

The AOL On Network has launched nearly 50 original series since 2011. AOL’s 2013 slate of originals, which comprised 15 shows and featured the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Richie, and Hank Azaria, has garnered more than 167 million views to date. With VH1 set to release half-hour episodes of #CandidlyNicole this month, and with AOL On content available on 15 connected TVs and streaming devices, AOL has proven that the lines between traditional TV and digital have become increasingly blurred, and that great content can truly be found on every screen.*

The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on Monday, August 25th on NBC.
