SAN FRANCISCO--()--On the historic corner of Haight and Ashbury, Madame Tussauds unveils Jerry Garcia’s wax figure with his daughter Keelin and wife Manasha. The family was filled with emotion and pride as the late legend remains an iconic representation of the city’s vibrant culture, which he was a major part of. Now his legacy lives on as an official wax figure at Madame Tussauds San Francisco, where Bay Area visitors will have the opportunity to view Jerry – among other prolific wax figures – that are being specially constructed for the new location, opening June 26.

“They’ve been doing this since the likes of Voltaire and Benjamin Franklin, and it’s an incredible honor to have Jerry included,” says Manasha Garcia. Jerry’s figure took a team of 20 artists and approximately three months to create with the use of more than 200 different measurements. Additionally, each strand of hair was inserted by hand individually, taking approximately five weeks to complete.

Madame Tussauds San Francisco will celebrate the city’s iconic figures and landmarks through the use of dedicated ‘Spirit of San Francisco’ room. As with all Madame Tussauds, there will be no ropes or barriers so visitors are able to get close and examine the incredible detail and artistry of these intricate, lifelike figures.
