LOS ANGELES--()--John Massé, creator and designer of well-known animated children’s characters, heads up the innovative weekly online drawing series called Muffalo Potato. Produced by Maslen Entertainment, the concept touts “Learn To Draw In Minutes Using Only Letters and Numbers.” New fast-paced video episodes are released every Saturday morning on MuffaloPotato.com as well as their YouTube channel: Youtube.com/muffalopotato. The episodes feature John Massé, the co-creator and creative force of the program, and his friendly, blue-haired sidekick puppet, Muffalo Potato.

Currently, the short and lighthearted episodes feature kid friendly, entertaining programs instructing children how to draw animals such as walrus, flamingos, giraffes and turtles. Massé says, “I decided to take all of my experience creating and drawing internationally recognized animated characters, and share just how easy it is by simply using this innovative teaching technique.” Each drawing is comprised of nothing more than letters and numbers in order to create the completed drawings. Massé goes on to say, “It’s Sesame Street meets Mr. Rogers meets Pee Wee’s Playhouse, and the goal is to get people interested in art and how much fun it can be.” To date, multiple episodes are available with a new release continuing indefinitely every week. The website even offers a free downloadable app so that kids can learn how to draw on the go.

Massé says, “In a time where art programs are being cut from schools, we’ve come up with a way to deliver the entertaining 'Learn To Draw' series at no cost to the user." The producers are currently working with teachers in the Los Angeles area to set up live shows within the classroom. On the Muffalo Potato website, teachers can find out how to incorporate the “Learn To Draw in Minutes” concept within their own lessons. “When I was a kid,” says Massé, “my dad taught me and my sisters how to draw pretty much anything simply by using letters and numbers. Those great memories are what inspired me to create Muffalo Potato.”
