DALLAS--()--Global colocation solutions provider CyrusOne (NASDAQ:CONE), today announced a substantial upgrade to the utility infrastructure of its Lewisville, Texas data center. The upgrade nearly triples the amount of available power, raising the facility’s total to 25 MVA of redundant utility capacity from Texas New Mexico Power (TNMP).

“This upgraded infrastructure is designed to support our customers’ growth, particularly those within the rapidly expanding financial and energy markets,” said John Hatem, vice president of data center design and construction at CyrusOne. “With nearly three times the amount of total available power, this upgrade will help us to better serve our customers with higher density and availability in both the short and long term.”

CyrusOne specializes in highly reliable enterprise data center colocation , engineering facilities with the highest power redundancy (2N architecture) and power-density infrastructure required to deliver excellent availability. With 109,000 square feet of raised floor space, several Fortune 1000 companies leverage the Lewisville, Texas data center for its redundant power architecture, high-density capability, and carrier-neutral connectivity. The Lewisville facility has earned the following certifications: SSAE 16 (SOC I type II), PCI DSS, HIPAA, and TIA 942 Class 4.

CyrusOne’s Lewisville facility is located just north of Dallas within the Convergence Technology Center and is part of the CyrusOne Sky for the Cloud interconnection and peering offering. Peering in the facility allows customers to pull content from the edge of the Internet to the heart of the data center, more quickly and affordably delivering access to content providers. The statewide Internet exchange that began piloting in 2012, interconnects Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio data centers. It will be the first statewide peering exchange in the country, and is expected to go live by the end of the first quarter 2013.

Including its Texas footprint, CyrusOne has 24 colocation facilities across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
