HERNDON, Va.--()--Deltek, Inc. (Nasdaq: PROJ), the leading global provider of enterprise software and information solutions for professional services firms and government contractors, has moved into a new corporate headquarters. The new headquarters, located in Herndon, Virginia, consolidates Deltek’s hundreds of local employees into one building. Designed around the core principles of employee collaboration and environmental sustainability, Deltek’s new headquarters is a model workplace for a growing, dynamic company in the 21st century.

Cutting-edge workplace for a fast-growing company

Deltek has been on a multi-year journey to grow the company far beyond its roots within the greater Washington, DC area. Since 2005, Deltek has completed ten acquisitions – including local companies INPUT, FedSources, and the Washington Management Group – and added nearly 1,000 employees, all while growing company revenues 83%. With more than 700 of Deltek’s 1,700 worldwide employees located in the DC area, Deltek needed a dynamic workspace that could unite the organization. The new headquarters has room for Deltek’s local employees, meeting space for Deltek’s visiting employees and an executive briefing center for Deltek’s global customers along with room for future growth.

Designed for maximum teamwork and collaboration

Working closely with Deltek customer and world-renowned architecture and engineering firm HOK, the new workspace has been built to facilitate knowledge-sharing among Deltek’s coworkers. The cutting-edge space includes no hard-walled offices and employees are sharing open collaboration areas. There are 103 open collaboration spaces, 120 community whiteboards, 29 huddle rooms, and 2 game rooms. The design will unlock creativity and promote a teamwork approach to problem-solving, as Deltek accelerates its mission of being the industry-standard solution provider to project-focused businesses worldwide.

Commitment to a sustainable workplace

As part of Deltek’s corporate commitment to minimize its impact on the environment, HOK designed the new workspace using the latest in green thinking. All of the work areas have direct access to natural light, minimizing the need for artificial light throughout the property. In addition, 75% of the lights are controlled by sensors so lights are only used on demand. Most of the construction materials used were diverted from landfills and 20% of the manufactured materials were sourced from production locations within a 500 mile radius of the new headquarters. The sustainability of the new headquarters is allowing Deltek to target a LEED silver certification.

“It really made a difference to work directly with Deltek on this project as a collaborator,” said Catherine Haley, Senior Principal, Director of Interior Design – HOK Washington, DC. “It was very apparent how much Deltek’s management team cares about its employees and how they would feel about their new corporate home. The management team invested the time to get involved in the details of the space decisions to create an incredible workplace. The new headquarters captures Deltek’s culture, energy and brand, while making a strong commitment to the environment.”

“HOK has been privileged to work with Deltek for over 10 years as a strategic partner, and we were honored with the opportunity to design the new Herndon, Virginia headquarters,” said Bill Helmuth, President of HOK. “We hope the new workplace helps support Deltek’s performance the way Deltek’s solutions have supported HOK’s performance for many years.”

“Our new headquarters is a perfect symbol of the new Deltek, a global market-leader that all of our employees have collectively built together. Leveraging the latest advancements in employee collaboration and sustainable design, this new building reinforces many of the core values of our company – innovation, collaboration, and results-driven behavior. It also reflects our commitment to the community at large by minimizing our impact on the environment. Moving into this new headquarters is a milestone for our company and sets a great foundation for the next phase of Deltek’s growth. We are thrilled to be moving into our headquarters and want to thank HOK for their insight and guidance as we designed our world-class working environment,” said Kevin Parker, President and CEO of Deltek

Deltek’s new headquarters is located at 2291 Wood Oak Drive in Herndon, VA 20171 and can be seen off the Dulles Toll Road.
