Stopped in its tracks. Alcoa's new Reynobond(R) with KEVLAR(R) architectural panel for the commercial building and construction industry has successfully passed rigorous simulated hurricane impact tests including the "large missile impact test" conducted by Hurricane
Test Laboratory, LLC in Florida. This test involves a 9-pound 2X4 timber traveling at speeds approximating a hurricane, as stipulated by the Miami-Dade Building Code. Pictured on the left is a competitor's aluminum composite material, which failed the impact test. On the right, the timber repeatedly bounced off the panel of Reynobond(R)
with KEVLAR(R) during testing. Reynobond(R) with KEVLAR(R) is designed to withstand wind-borne debris and hurricane wind speeds up to 130 mph, such as a Category 3 hurricane.
