Kurt Muse receives the Army's Freedom Team Salute Commendation from Lieutenant Colonel Steve Kinnear. In the late 1980s, Muse operated a bandit radio station in Panama that broadcast messages of freedom until he was arrested. Twenty years ago on December 20, 1989, Muse was freed after being held in a Panamanian prison for nine months in the opening moments of Operation Just Cause, the United States military action that led to the overthrow of Panamanian General Manuel Noriega. Muse spent Christmas of 1989 with his family in the United States. Photo by Michael Dorsey
