James LeVoy Sorenson, who died today, was one of the world's leading inventors, entrepreneurs and philanthropists. His pioneering inventions - including disposable surgical masks, catheters and the first computerized real-time heart monitoring systems - garnered more than 40 patents and changed the face of the global life science industry.
